Getting There

From Narita Airport (NRT)

Recommended (Premium): Take the 🔵 Keisei Skyliner from Terminal 1 or 2 to Nippori Station, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku Station. The total journey takes approximately 60–70 minutes. Terminal 3 users should take the shuttle bus to Terminal 2 first. Mid-range: The 🔴 Narita Express (N’EX) connects to Shibuya or Shinjuku Stations, requiring a short transfer on the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to reach Harajuku (approximately 80–90 minutes). Budget: Take the 🟠 Keisei Access Express to Nippori Station, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line (approximately 75–85 minutes).

From Haneda Airport (HND)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the 🔴 Keikyu Line from any terminal (T1, T2, T3) to Shinagawa Station, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line (bound for Shibuya/Shinjuku) to Harajuku Station. This route takes approximately 35–45 minutes. Alternative: The 🔵 Tokyo Monorail connects to Hamamatsucho Station, where you can transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku (approximately 40–50 minutes).

From Major Stations

  • From Tokyo Station: Take the 🟠 JR Chuo Line (Rapid) to Shinjuku, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku for the fastest route (approximately 20–25 minutes). Alternatively, take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line directly (approximately 30 minutes).
  • From Shinjuku Station: Take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line directly to Harajuku Station (approximately 4 minutes).
  • From Shibuya Station: Take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line (1 stop) to Harajuku (approximately 2 minutes). Alternatively, the 🟤 Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line connects to Meiji-jingumae ‘Harajuku’ Station.

Local Access

The area is served by two adjacent stations: Harajuku Station (🟢 JR Yamanote Line) and Meiji-jingumae ‘Harajuku’ Station (Tokyo Metro Chiyoda and 🟤 Fukutoshin Lines). Takeshita Street is immediately across from the Takeshita Exit of Harajuku Station. IC cards (Suica, PASMO) are accepted on all trains in the Kanto region.
