Getting There

From Narita Airport (NRT)

Recommended (Premium): Take the 🔵 Keisei Skyliner from Terminal 1 or 2 to Keisei-Ueno Station in approximately 40–50 minutes. From Ueno, transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line or Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line for one stop to Akihabara, or walk approximately 10–15 minutes. Terminal 3 users should take the shuttle bus to Terminal 2 first. Mid-range: Take the 🔴 Narita Express (N’EX) to Tokyo Station in approximately 60 minutes, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line (northbound) for two stops.

From Haneda Airport (HND)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the 🔵 Tokyo Monorail from any terminal (T1, T2, T3) to Hamamatsucho Station in approximately 15–20 minutes. Transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line (northbound) to reach Akihabara in approximately 10 minutes. Alternative: The 🔴 Keikyu Line connects all terminals to Shinagawa Station, where you can also transfer to the JR lines.

From Major Stations

  • From Tokyo Station: Take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line directly to Akihabara (approximately 4 minutes).
  • From Shinjuku Station: Take the 🟠 JR Chuo Line (Rapid) to Ochanomizu Station, then cross the platform to the JR Sobu Line for one stop to Akihabara (approximately 15–20 minutes).
  • From Shibuya Station: Take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line directly to Akihabara (approximately 30 minutes) or the 🟠 Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Suehirocho (near the north end of Akihabara).

Local Access

Akihabara Station is a major hub served by the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, and Sobu Line. It is also accessible via the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and the Tsukuba Express. Use the “Electric Town” exit for immediate access to major electronics and anime shops. IC cards (Suica, PASMO) are accepted on all trains and buses in the area.
