Getting There

Starting Point

This itinerary is designed to start from central Osaka, specifically the northern hub of Umeda (Osaka Station) or the southern hub of Namba. If arriving by Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka Station, take the JR Kyoto Line 🔵 to Osaka Station in approximately 4 minutes, or the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line 🔴 to Namba in approximately 15 minutes.

From Kansai International Airport (KIX)

Recommended (Premium): To reach Namba, take the Nankai Rapi:t 🔵 from Terminal 1 to Nankai Namba Station in approximately 35–40 minutes. To reach Shin-Osaka or Tennoji, take the JR Haruka Limited Express (white/blue) in approximately 35–50 minutes. Terminal 2 (LCC) passengers must take a free shuttle bus to Terminal 1 to access the train station.

Budget: The Nankai Airport Express (to Namba) and the JR Kansai Airport Rapid (to Osaka Station) serve both terminals via the station at Terminal 1. These options take approximately 45–65 minutes but offer significant savings over limited express trains.

From Osaka Itami Airport (ITM)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the Airport Limousine Bus directly to Osaka Station (Umeda) or Namba Station. Buses depart frequently and take approximately 30–40 minutes depending on traffic. This is the most convenient option for travelers with luggage.

Budget: Take the Osaka Monorail (dark blue) to Hotarugaike Station, then transfer to the Hankyu Takarazuka Line 🟤 to reach Osaka-Umeda Station in approximately 30 minutes total.

Useful Passes

For this 2-day itinerary, the Osaka Amazing Pass is highly recommended; it covers unlimited travel on the Osaka Metro and city buses, plus free entry to many major attractions. Alternatively, the Osaka Metro “Enjoy Eco Card” provides unlimited subway travel for a single day. For general transit not covered by passes, use an ICOCA card (interchangeable with Suica and PASMO) for seamless tap-and-go travel.
