Getting There

Starting Point

This itinerary is best started from Osaka Station (Umeda), the city’s primary transportation hub. If arriving via Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka Station, take the 🟠 Osaka Metro Midosuji Line or the JR Kyoto Line to Osaka Station in approximately 4–6 minutes.

From Kansai International Airport (KIX)

Recommended (Premium): Take the 🔵 JR Haruka Limited Express from Terminal 1. It connects directly to Osaka Station (underground platforms) and Shin-Osaka Station in approximately 45–50 minutes. Terminal 2 passengers must take the free shuttle bus to Terminal 1 first.

Alternative (Mid-range): For itineraries starting in the southern hub of Namba, take the 🔵 Nankai Rapi:t or Airport Express to Namba Station in approximately 35–45 minutes. Budget: Airport Limousine Buses serve both terminals and connect to major hotels and stations, though travel times vary by traffic.

From Osaka Itami Airport (ITM)

Recommended (Mid-range): The Airport Limousine Bus is the most convenient option for travelers with luggage, reaching Osaka Station (Umeda) in approximately 30 minutes. Budget: Take the Osaka Monorail to Hotarugaike Station, then transfer to the 🟤 Hankyu Takarazuka Line to reach Osaka-Umeda Station in approximately 30 minutes total.

Useful Passes

For a 1-day trip, the Osaka Amazing Pass is highly recommended as it covers unlimited rides on the Osaka Metro and city buses, plus entry to many major attractions. Alternatively, the Osaka Metro “Enjoy Eco Card” offers unlimited subway travel for a single day at a budget price. For general travel across the Kansai region, the ICOCA IC card is accepted on all trains, subways, and buses.
