Getting There

From Narita Airport (NRT)

Recommended (Premium): Take the 🔴 Narita Express (N’EX) directly to Shinjuku Station in approximately 85–90 minutes. This train serves Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 directly (Terminal 3 users must walk or shuttle to T2). This is the most convenient option for travelers with luggage as no transfers are required. Mid-range (Fastest): Take the 🔵 Keisei Skyliner to Nippori Station, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to reach Shinjuku in approximately 65–75 minutes total. Budget: Airport Limousine Buses also connect all terminals directly to Shinjuku Station and major hotels, though travel times vary by traffic.

From Haneda Airport (HND)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the 🔴 Keikyu Line from any terminal (T1, T2, T3) to Shinagawa Station, then transfer to the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station. The total journey takes approximately 40–50 minutes. Premium: Airport Limousine Buses offer direct service from all terminals to Shinjuku Station and nearby hotels in approximately 35–60 minutes, avoiding the need to navigate crowded stations with luggage.

From Major Stations

  • From Tokyo Station: Take the 🟠 JR Chuo Line (Rapid) directly to Shinjuku Station (approximately 15 minutes). This is significantly faster than the Yamanote Line for this specific route.
  • From Shibuya Station: Take the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line or the 🟢 JR Saikyo Line directly to Shinjuku Station (approximately 5–7 minutes).

Local Access

Shinjuku Station is one of the busiest transport hubs in the world. It is served by the 🟢 JR Yamanote Line, 🟠 JR Chuo Line, 🟢 JR Saikyo Line, Odakyu Line, Keio Line, 🔴 Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, and Toei subway lines. Due to the station’s immense size, pay close attention to exit signs (East, West, South, etc.) to reach your specific destination. IC cards (Suica, PASMO) are accepted on all rail lines and buses in the area.
