Getting There

Starting Point

This itinerary begins at Kamakura Station. From Tokyo Station: Take the JR Yokosuka Line 🔵 directly to Kamakura Station in approximately 60 minutes. From Shinjuku or Shibuya Stations: Take the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line 🟠 directly to Kamakura in approximately 60 minutes. Note that some Shonan-Shinjuku trains are bound for Odawara; ensure you board a train stopping at Kamakura (bound for Zushi), or transfer at Ofuna Station.

From Narita Airport (NRT)

Recommended (Premium): Take the Narita Express (N’EX) (red & white) from Terminal 1 or 2 to Ofuna Station. From Ofuna, transfer to the JR Yokosuka Line 🔵 for a short ride to Kamakura. The total journey takes approximately 110–130 minutes. Budget: Take the Keisei Main Line 🔵 to Nippori Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line 🟢 and subsequently the JR Yokosuka Line, though this requires multiple transfers.

From Haneda Airport (HND)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the Keikyu Line 🔴 from any terminal (T1, T2, T3) to Yokohama Station. At Yokohama, transfer to the JR Yokosuka Line 🔵 or JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line 🟠 to Kamakura. The total travel time is approximately 50–60 minutes. This is generally the fastest and most cost-effective route.

Useful Passes

For travelers departing from Shinjuku, the Odakyu Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass is a great value option that includes a round trip from Shinjuku and unlimited rides on the Enoden tram line. If you arrive via JR lines, consider purchasing the Enoden 1-Day Pass (Noriorikun) at Kamakura Station for unlimited travel on the Enoden line, which connects many major sights in this itinerary. IC cards (Suica, PASMO) are accepted on all JR lines, the Enoden tram, and local buses.
