Getting There

Starting Point

This itinerary begins at Sapporo Station, the primary transportation hub for the city. The station serves as the junction for JR Hokkaido lines and the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku 🟢 and Toho 🔵 lines, making it the most convenient location to start your journey.

From New Chitose Airport (CTS)

Recommended (Mid-range): Take the JR Rapid Airport train from the airport station, located on the basement level of the Domestic Terminal. International Terminal passengers should utilize the connecting walkway to reach the station. The train reaches Sapporo Station in approximately 37–40 minutes. This is the fastest and most reliable option, especially during winter months.

Budget: Airport Limousine Buses serve both Domestic and International terminals, connecting to central Sapporo, Susukino, and major hotels in approximately 60–80 minutes. While travel times can vary significantly due to traffic and snow conditions, buses offer the convenience of direct drop-offs at specific hotels.

Useful Passes

For navigating the city during this 2-day trip, the Sapporo Municipal Subway One-Day Ticket is highly recommended. It offers unlimited rides on the Namboku 🟢, Tozai 🟠, and Toho 🔵 lines. On weekends and public holidays, look for the discounted “Donichika Ticket.” IC cards such as Kitaca, Suica, and PASMO are widely accepted on JR trains, subways, buses, and the streetcar.
